The Kiss

Harper's dress blew wildly in the wind as she looked over the shoulder of Chase.
"It's been a year since we've seen each other, where'd this come from?" She asked jokingly, referring to his sense of romance.
He laughed. "Harper, don't you think for a second I've never been romantic."
"Oh, really? Last kiss?"
"Haven't had one."
"I didn't think so." Harper laughed.
Chase smiled and let go. He smiled brightly and their eyes met. "I've never met a girl who can be charming and daring at the same time."
Harper blushed. "You're such a flatter. I like that."

He smiled and let go of her hand. "Oh, Harper. I think..." He faltered. Harper's heart dropped. What? What did he think of her? She wondered.
"I think you're wonderful, so don't even worry for a second." He smiled.
She exhaled and smiled. "I thought- never mind."
He sadly looked into her eyes. "What?" He asked. "What did you think?" Harper laughed. "I thought you were less high-strung than that, but I guess we both are."
They both laughed, and then they leaned in closer. Lips touched, and then departed slowly.
"You said you never had been kissed?"
"Yeah."
"Now you have." Harper smiled
